JoshuaWeissman
Pretty clean cooking content, but expect some mild language and pretty constant cookbook plugging.
Best for ages 10+
Joshua Weissman is genuinely fun to watch and clearly knows his stuff in the kitchen. The 100 food hacks video is probably the most useful thing I've seen on YouTube in a while. He's got good energy, keeps things moving, and actually teaches real techniques. My kids were into it.

KidWatch Assessment
Joshua Weissman is genuinely fun to watch and clearly knows his stuff in the kitchen. The 100 food hacks video is probably the most useful thing I've seen on YouTube in a while. He's got good energy, keeps things moving, and actually teaches real techniques. My kids were into it.
That said, he plugs his cookbook and book tour constantly. Like, constantly. Every single video had at least one promo moment, sometimes right in the middle of the content. Not a dealbreaker but worth knowing if your kid is impressionable about buying things.
Language is mostly fine. He dropped a 'holy' that was clearly heading somewhere else in the 50 states video, and he said 'kaka poo poo' in the hacks video which honestly made me laugh. Nothing severe. The Popeyes video has him joking about getting sued by lawyers, which is harmless but a little random for younger kids.
Flagged Moments
opening segment
He interrupts the cooking content to promote his book tour with dates and a call to action before he's even shared a single tip. It's a pretty abrupt pivot and happens before any real content starts.
produce washing segment
He uses the phrase 'kaka poo poo' when describing bacteria on unwashed produce. Lighthearted and clearly a joke, but younger kids might repeat it.
intro segment
He makes several jokes about being sued by Popeyes lawyers and pleads with them directly on camera. It's meant to be funny but it's a weird running bit that goes on a bit longer than it needs to.
early in video before state rankings begin
He stops the video entirely to announce his cookbook launch and directs viewers to buy it, calling it the most important announcement of the year. Feels out of place and pretty sales-forward.
Ohio Cincinnati chili segment
He says 'holy' in a way that's clearly a cut-off version of a stronger expression. It's bleeped or cut just in time but the intent is obvious.
field research segment
He makes a self-deprecating joke about not finding the sandwich spicy and adds 'and I'm white so' as the punchline. It's not mean-spirited but it's the kind of offhand comment that might prompt questions from younger kids.
What Parents Should Know
Watch the 50 states video with your kid if they're into geography because it's actually a great conversation starter about regional food and culture.
Expect to talk about advertising since Joshua plugs his cookbook in every single video and younger kids might not recognize that as a sales pitch.
Skip straight to the cooking segments if your kid has a short attention span because the intro promos can drag on for a minute or two.
Use the 100 hacks video as a starting point if you want to get your kid interested in actually cooking, the tips are genuinely practical and easy to follow along with.
Be ready for the occasional bleeped or almost-bleeped word, nothing serious but the Ohio chili moment in the 50 states video is the main one to be aware of.
